After 25 years of teaching elementary school it seems l like I have tried it all, done it all, and seen it all. WRONG! At the beginning of each new school year I am excited to try new things and implement new ideas. At the end of each school year I reflect back and relish in the new things I have learned and how much I have grown as a teacher.
I have learned so much from my teaching colleagues. When we collaborate with teachers from other schools in my district, the majority of our time is spent (off topic) asking questions and sharing ideas to learn what we can from each other. I bought my first resource from Teachers Pay Teachers in 2013 which led me to start reading teacher blogs and joining social media teacher groups. I have spent the last 8 years reading and learning from teachers across the country. I am inspired when I read about how teachers run their classrooms, their instructional strategies, and the way they keep students engaged.
I believe that to be a successful teacher a key element is COLLABORATION. Through collaboration we either LEARN or CONFIRM. We can LEARN new ideas to try in our own classrooms to see if they work for us and our students. We can CONFIRM that what we are doing in our classrooms is working and while other teachers may do things differently, it may not work for the way we run our own classrooms.
In the last two years, I have spent a lot more time on Facebook, in Facebook Teacher Groups, communicating with other teachers, sharing how I do things in my classroom (thanks COVID!) There are so many teachers out there looking for support! I certainly DO NOT know it all, but with 25 years of teaching experience, I have a lot of knowledge to share. Being a part of the ebb and flow of education and riding the waves, gives me a unique perspective. Therefore, this blog was born!

IS...
A place for me to share my classroom procedures and teaching strategies.
(They just might work for you!!)
A place for teachers to collaborate and share ideas with each other.
IS NOT...
a website that claims to know it all
